A 5-year-old's mother and grandmother were arrested in connection with the child's death days after deputies were called to a Coachella home where the child had stopped breathing last week.The child's mother, 37-year-old Vanessa Rangel, was arrested around 7 p.m. Tuesday by deputies serving a search warrant in the 51500 block of Date Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
