The Hershey Bears now know who they will be playing in the Calder Cup Finals. The Coachella Valley Firebirds, who are based in Thousand Palms, California, will meet the Bears in a best-of-seven series. The Firebirds are members of the Pacific Division in the Western Conference of the American Hockey League (AHL) and just completed their inaugural season. Located near Palm Springs, about 115 miles east of Los Angeles, the Firebirds are a farm team for the National Hockey League's Seattle Kraken. Their head coach is Dan Bylsma, who for a time was coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
